Memorial Day weekend was really fun. We went to our neighborhood pool for the first time and played in the water. Cailin really enjoyed it and had a smile on her face most of the time. But the girl likes her naps so we had to leave after about 30 minutes, but we came back later in the day for another 30 minutes or so. She got to see all the kids splashing and playing in the deep pool. Won't be long before that will be her. We took several walks in her big girl stroller so she could set up and see everything instead of being stuck in the car seat. She was very content and just quietly watched the scenery go by. She also got to meet several of our neighbors that she hadn't met yet and we all got to catch up on the neighborhood gossip. : )

Grandma bought Cailin her first big high chair now that she's eating more solids on a regular basis. She seems to love all the foods we've put in her mouth, even green beans! She's not too sure about water though but she loves taking a sip of Mama's sweet tea.

We were sad to see Grandma go home. Her two weeks here with us was a lot of fun! We took many, many trips to the mall and walked around the market square and we had a lot of giggles. We will be looking forward to our family vacation in July. Maybe Grandpa will get to spend a little more time with her so Cailin can get to know him too. She was a little unsure of who he was at first but she'll come around.

We decided to spend some time in our luxurious mini pool in our backyard. Daddy tried to sit in with her but as you can see he takes up most of the pool all by himself.

So Mama figured she could fit in it a little easier and we played with the baby toys and squirted Daddy and the dogs with water. It was a really good weekend except for Friday when we discovered two water moccasins in our yard. Hopefully they don't decided to come back and take a dip in our pool.

Cailin had an exciting weekend. She got to go to her first pool party for her cousin Cody's 6th birthday. It was her first time to ever get into a pool. She wanted to work on her tan so she could get ready for this summer at the beach but the weather didn't cooperate.

Her future's so bright, she's gotta wear shades! (That's right, I did it)

She loved her aweseome sunglasses and never once tried to take them off. Mama took them off once and she was almost blinded so we decided to leave them on for her. Our movie star : )

But she had fun playing with Daddy in the pool. She'll have a fun summer filled with lots of pool time, even if it's just an inflatable one in the backyard.

Her cousin Cody got to hold her for the first time. He's definitely a proud cousin and made sure all his friends knew that she was his little cousin. Her other cousin Cooper is still a little unsure of her but he's starting to come around. He's only two and is used to being the baby but they'll all play together one day.

May 14

Yummy fingers! We think she might be getting ready to teeth because she chews on everything she can get her hands on, even someone elses hand.

Still chewing...

Chewing some more, this time with Grandma...

Okay she paused for a little smooch time with Grandma

And a little play time with Mama

More snuggles with Grandma

We have decided to start giving her a little bit of cereal to see how she likes it. She was trying to figure out what I kept putting in her mouth so I let her explore the bowl and the spoon, which she quickly stuck in her mouth and threw on the floor...Thanks Cailin : )

Here is the look of confusion on her face with the new texture of solid food...I guess it's not as good as a Mommy boob : ) Hopefully she will get used to it so we can start giving her more of the yummy food like applesauce, but one step at a time.

See the look of confusion already forming on her face
After a trip to the mall, Cailin came home with more swim suits than any 6 month old should have but she will be looking absolutely adorable. She'll be the hit of the pool party this weekend in her summer time outfits and sunglasses...yes they have sunglasses that will fit a 6 month old!
The day ended with a giggle-fest with Grandma, it's pretty much the cutest thing ever!

We finally got Cailin a jumperoo and she absolutely loves it! We decided she needed one because every time we held her on our laps, all she did was jump and jump. This was, at least she can feel like she's a big girl and is doing it all by herself.

Grandma finally came into town to visit this weekend. Cailin was really excited and gave her the biggest belly laughs I've ever heard, I think she even surprised herself. Of course there is never a camera around at a moment like that but it was still the cutest thing I'd ever seen. We all went out to dinner on Friday to celebrate Mother's Day early and Cailin had a blast. She was in the best mood and smiled at every person who walked by our table. She's such a flirt already!

She went for a walk with her Daddy and Bailey Saturday morning while Mama went and got her hair cut, they're so cute together!

She's got her first cell phone already!

Her favorite game of all is standing and jumping. Luckily we got her a new jumperoo which she LOVES! I'll have a video of her aerobics soon.

Cailin and Maggie had a playdate on Tuesday, there is a video of it below but for some reason I couldn't get all the pictures to group together. She has had a good week. Nana came for a visit on Wednesday but Cailin was already in bed for the night so she only got to see her briefly on Thursday morning.

On Saturday Cailin got to go to her first bowling alley trip. She loved all the excitement and watching all the people. Nana and Poopa stopped by on their way in from Fort Worth to say hi so she got to give them some really good smiles.

She is getting to where she loves to stand more than she likes to sit. She'll jump and try to pull up to standing whenever she can. I think she wants to skip the whole crawling thing and move right into walking.

I found this video of Cailin in her first days in the NICU. It's hard to believe that she was ever this tiny and skinny! She hasn't got her big cheeks and fat rolls yet but she is still so cute. We definitely don't miss having to listen to the constant beeping of all the machines and monitors. Thank God these days are over and we have our sweet little baby girl at home where she is wireless : )

This is Cailin last week in all of her chubby glory playing with her best friend Magnolia. Little Maggie is a chatterbox and Cailin is more of a listener. A few times she tried to suck on Maggie's fingers, I guess she got tired of her own. After several minutes of chatter, Cailin tried to put her hand in Maggie's mouth, I think she was trying to tell her something : )

Here Cailin is having some tummy time and looking at her reflection a little in the mirror. I should have started filming earlier because by the end she had had about enough. She's getting so strong now, it won't be long before she's mobile!
